Promotional video
Promotional video best for you |
Let’s focus on the second of these types of videos, promo videos. These videos are usually 3-5 minutes in length and intended to present the conference in a positive, energetic light. More often than not these videos are based around interview clips with delegates, sponsors or organisers, talking about their experience at the conference and what they’ve enjoyed and found useful about it.
These interview clips are supplemented with other footage from the conference. A lot depends on what’s going on at the particular event, but usually we’ll include shots of people networking, clips from keynote speeches and seminars, and footage of interactive workshops and any entertainment. These elements are all edited together with an appropriate soundtrack, encoded to the right format and then delivered to your audience.
So what’s the point of producing these promotional videos, and how can they deliver value to you?
The benefits are many and varied, and these videos can deliver a return on your investment that other forms of promotion can’t even hope for! With the amount of time and investment that goes into the planning and running of a conference, including professionally produced video is a great idea for many reasons:
It can help to promote future events to delegates. Rather than just telling people about what goes on and trying to explain the atmosphere and energy of the conference, you can show them
It can entertain attendees and recap their experience, encouraging re-attendance – in some cases it’s even possible to edit the video during the conference itself and show it at the end as an entertaining and light-hearted closer
You can use it to highlight the value of future events to potential sponsors, by showing them why it’s worth getting involved
By including logos and branding within the video, you can give something back to your current sponsors
It’s a tangible record of what went on, something that can be referred to any time and anywhere
